Quartz is mined from the surface of the earth, using sustainable practices from countries such as Brazil, Madagascar & Japan. Once this has been minded it is then sent off to our quality control team which will only select the best pieces to turn into quartz worktops.

The Process

Quartz is manufactured through a process called lapping and polishing. This process involves grinding quartz into the desired shape using abrasive materials such as diamond wheels. After the quartz has been ground, it is then polished using finer abrasives until its surface has a smooth feel and shine. Composite is crafted into slabs that had uniform sizes and multiple thicknesses, but could then be carved and refined with the same skill as natural stone.

If you love the look & feel of the quartz product Vision Work Surfaces can add colour enhancements to the product to achieve the result you desire.

What Can it be Used for?

The lapping and polishing process can also be used to create intricate designs on quartz surfaces. Once the quartz has been manufactured, it is then ready for use in a variety of applications. Quartz can be used to make gems, jewellery, kitchen countertops, and other decorative items. It is also an important material in many industries such as electronics and construction due to its excellent thermal properties and low cost.
